LOPA
Manufacturing facilities are increasingly being required to quantify the risk associated with specific hazards identified within their processes. Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA) is a widely utilized semi-quantitative risk analysis technique within the chemical industry.
Typically, hazards are identified through a qualititative review process such as a HAZOP study. Hazards are then analysed to quantiify the societal risk to workers and the general public through a structured methodology which assesses the impact of existing and proposed mitigating features and equipment.
At Harvey Parr Limited, our degree qualified engineer has been fully trained on an IChemE accredited LOPA course and has five years experience of LOPA reviews on a Top Tier COMAH chemical plant. Our engineer will prepare and perform your LOPA review in conjunction with your site experts and produce a comprehensive final report.
